MIGIZI Communications 10th Annual Summer Media Institute Produces Great Results

 

The 10th Annual Summer Media Institute wrapped up on August 9th this year. This was a partnership between MIGIZI Communications’ First Person Productions program (FPP), AchieveMpls, the Step Up youth employment program, and The University of Minnesota Regis College of Art.

The Summer Media Institute employed twelve high school students to make videos about contemporary issues of importance to the Indian community.

This year, FPP partnered with another MIGIZI program, Green Jobs Pathways, and the Univ. of MN Office of Sustainability to investigate issues such as renewable energy, recycling, and healthy ecosystems. The youth media interns produced three video projects:
