Board members are selected via
a democratic process at annual meetings. Members of the organization elect
Board members to fill vacancies occurring through completion of terms.
There are three-year, two-year and one-year terms.
MIGIZI is a recognized Indian
controlled organization as Board membership specifies that two thirds
majority be enrolled members of federally recognized tribes.
The MIGIZI Board is a policy-making
entity having the rights and responsibilities associated with not for
profit Boards in Minnesota. The Board works in close cooperation with
the MIGIZI administrator and project directors.
